October 26, 2008, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Noam Federman’s windows and doors were broken through, not by the usual terrorists; but by government forces on a mission to terrorize the families of Noam Federman and Sinai Tor.  The homes that these peaceful families lived in for more than two years were reduced to rubble within minutes.

We visited the scene between Kiryat Arba and Hebron two weeks after the initial destruction of the homes.  The demolition was complete, the destroyers left nothing to rebuild from.  Soon after the destruction construction began, the hill top youth helped to rebuild temporary housing for the displaced residents. Government forces came and tore them down too. 

The night of the initial action Noam was arrested for supposedly assaulting one of the officers.  Ehud Barak petitioned the court to bar Noam from entering the Hebron area.  Noam was released by an honest judge and the request to bar him from Hebron was denied.  The state had no foundation for their charges.  In his decision the judge rebuked the government for their treatment of the Federman and Tor families that fateful night.

Ehud Barak, Israel’s Defense Minister, attempted to have the courts rule to bar Noam from entering the Hebron area stating that he was a terrorist threat.  A judge issued a decision rejecting the State’s request while at the same time rebuking the State for their actions when they destroyed the Federman and Tor dwellings.  In his ruling the judge took issue with virtually everything the State did, the timing of the action, in the middle of the night and the rough handling of the residents. 

While at the farm we met up with some of the hill top youth.  We handed out Resistance Movement shirts and hats and discussed the movement with the youth that spoke english.  Noam nor Sinai Tor were at the site when we were there, but we did ask some of the youth to make sure Noam and his family received some of the shirts.
